Το Εργαστήρι θεάτρου Ξένια Καλογεροπούλου διοργανώνει διαδικτυακό masterclass για ενήλικες με τον Chris Cooper, συγγραφέα, σκηνοθέτη, καλλιτεχνικό διευθυντή της Accident Time (U.K.) με θέμα “The playwright as facilitator”.

Το master class απευθύνεται σε όσους δραστηριοποιούνται εκπαιδευτικά και καλλιτεχνικά σε ομάδες παιδιών και εφήβων. Αφορά όσους έχουν παρακολουθήσει στο παρελθόν σεμινάρια με εισηγητή τον Chris Cooper αλλά και όσους επιθυμούν να τον παρακολουθήσουν για πρώτη φορά. Η διδασκαλία θα γίνει στα αγγλικά.

Θα δοθούν βεβαιώσεις παρακολούθησης.

Λίγα λόγια για το περιεχόμενο του master class από τον Chris Cooper:

Gavin Bolton once noted that facilitating in drama-in-education or process drama is akin to the art of playwrighting; creating pre-text and context, developing narrative, and building dramatic tension, but unlike the playwright, in the moment.

While this is certainly true, it is also true that the playwright is also a facilitator for the audience, or participants, in participatory educational theatre and Theatre-in-Education (TiE). Theatre is a public space, that engages individual and community, in acts of meaning-making. Too often theatre for children and young people is concentrated on telling the audience/participant what to think, or is used to cure a particular problem, such as bullying. But in the best contemporary writing for children and young people it is the playwright’s responsibility to create stories and situations that resonate the lives of the audience/participants and the wider world they live in and create gaps for meaning to be made by them. The Site and Centre of a play and the use of story is deployed to create a theatre where the children and young people can ‘meet’ themselves on the stage, test and create values. In doing so responsibility is passed back to the audience/participant. The playwright is creative in order to facilitate the audience/participants self-creativity.

Using one of Cooper’s own texts as a starting point, this practice-based Online Masterclass will explore this notion of the playwright as facilitator in contemporary TiE and theatre education practice. How we access young minds to the meaning encoded in the drama, is dependent on how the play’s structure facilitates the participants’ experience of what is enacted for them.”
